It all started when I, Vraj (Founder of Bela Farms), moved back to India from New York, USA, in December 2023 after eight long years abroad to take on a new challenge and be part of India's growth.
 

I transitioned to a Vegan diet in mid-2021 and discovered some of the best healthy vegan products in America. Witnessing the growth of Ahmedabad and India, I was confident I would find quality options for non-dairy milk and food products upon my return. However, I was disappointed to find that almost all brands available contained artificial flavors, emulsifiers, sugars, gums, inflammatory oils, and preservatives. Moreover, some products had manufacturing dates up to 10 months old, compromising freshness and quality. Despite trying several of the best available brands, none satisfied my palate or met my expectations. As I connected with more health enthusiasts, dieticians, lactose-intolerant individuals, and fellow vegans, I realized that many people shared the same challenge: finding clean, trustworthy non-dairy milk without compromising on quality. Furthermore, I discovered that 60-70% of people in India are lactose intolerant, and many are unaware of it until they consult a dietician, gastroenterologist, or primary physician.

Motivated by this gap in the market, I embraced the challenge of understanding the process of making fresh almond milk. Through multiple international visits, extensive research, networking, engaging with FMCG conglomerates, and studying successful companies producing the world's best and cleanest nut milk, I learned two crucial things. Firstly, producing fresh, natural milk without any chemicals, flavors, oils, gums, or preservatives is indeed a complex task. Secondly, the benefits of fresh almond milk are immense—not only for vegans and lactose-intolerant individuals but also for those pursuing fitness goals, following keto diets, observing fasting practices (upvaas, vrat), managing diabetes or high cholesterol, and for parents seeking the healthiest options for their children. Almond milk is rich in vitamin E, magnesium, protein, and calcium and has great benefits.

Determined to make a difference, I decided to start with a simple yet effective solution to address the existing problems in the non-dairy/vegan food market. After rigorous research, testing, and hard work, I launched Bela Farms with the mission to provide premium-quality, natural, fresh almond milk—free from additives, preservatives, or oils—in eco-friendly glass bottles, delivered directly to customers' doorsteps, just like traditional dairy milk. Currently serving only in Ahmedabad, I am dedicated to educating a diverse community about the benefits of almond milk and promoting a healthier lifestyle one day at a time.
